Portsmouth University Student Cares: Farnborough Half-Marathon x British Heart Foundation

University of Portsmouth student Alex Hayward is taking part in the Farnborough Winter Half-Marathon at the end of January for the British Heart Foundation.

Hayward is taking part in the sold-out event to raise money and awareness for the charity which ‘funds research to beat heartbreak from heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors.’

In 2017, over 42,000 people died from heart and circulatory diseases in the UK before the age of 75, and heart and circulatory diseases still kill 1 in 4 in the UK.

Joining over 2000 runners for the event which was founded in 2017, Alex Hayward is taking part in his first ever race.

I went to meet Alex ahead of the big race, and he gave an insight into what he is doing, and his fitness regime in preparation for the half-marathon!
